Development strategy The research within the AMaRaP research centre are orientated in 4 major directions:
a) Research on non-conventional technologies, to remove material by EDM, Water Jet Cutting, etc.;
b) Research on Innovative Manufacturing and Rapid Tooling, for small volume production of complex parts (Silicone Rubber Tooling, Vacuum Casting, Metal Spray Tooling, Investment Casting, etc.);
c) Research on CNC manufacturing;
d) Research on concurrent engineering for Competitive Manufacturing.
The future strategy of the AMaRaP research centre is to develop the ongoing research and to join integrated projects and European Research Platforms.
Cooperation with industrial partners will be a main feature of AMaRaP research centre for Product Design, Rapid Product Development and Innovative Technologies for Competitive Manufacturing. The AMaRaP research centre contributes to develop the abilities and competences of the PhD Students in TUCN. There will be undertaken both fundamental research (results will be published within ISI and BDI articles) and applied research, which will lead to commercial contracts with industrial partners (significant results will be patented).
The results of this research will allow the development of new services in Romania, such as Rapid Manufacturing of Customized Implants made out of biocompatible and bioactive materials.
